Mills End City Park

So, I had a joke surprise for the rest of the group. Our hobby takes us to the lots of record breaking rides and parks and I'd found another one for this trip: the world's smallest park.

Located close to the banks of the city's river Mills End City Park has been around since 1948. It's not the patch of grass in the background by the way.

It's the planter in the middle of the road.

It was formally recognised by the Guiness Book of Records as the world's smallest park in 1971. In its history it has been occupied (by military toy soldiers) and did have a ferris wheel which the city delivered via a full sized crane.

Portland is weird, but I'm not complaining!
